A mother-daughter pilot team makes history while flying an aircraft together
After a video of the pair went popular online, the normal work of two female pilots was transformed into a touching moment for the internet.
The pilot pair identified themselves as mother and daughter in the video. The first mother-daughter team to pilot an aircraft together is Southwest Airlines' Captain Holly Petitt and First Officer Keely Petitt.
By successfully completing flight 3658 from Denver to St. Louis, the team made history. The pair's video was circulated on social media and is currently online.
At the start of the film, the pair is seen clutching an old photograph with the inscription "POV: You become the first mother-daughter duo at Southwest."
Captain Holly Petitt can be seen in the video enjoying the occasion with the aboard passengers and stating, "Thank you for coming, everyone.
For us and Southwest Airlines, it is a very memorable and joyful day.
We are the first mother-daughter team to ever fly on a Southwest Airlines flight deck. So, I want to thank you for coming."
